Cham Foods provides custom processing services of freeze-drying and belt spray drying
Freeze-Drying
Freeze-drying is a special form of drying that removes all moisture and tends to have less of an effect on a food's taste than normal dehydration does. Freeze-dried products maintain nutrients, color, flavor and texture. They are often indistinguishable from the original product.
Belt Spray Drying
What is a Spray Dryer?
Spray dyers allow for production of the exact desired properties, such as particle size, bulk density, moisture content, solubility etc. Belt spray dryers are perfect for gentle drying of sticky, hydroscopic and thermoplastic products. The process of belt spraying uses nozzle atomization in a co-current tower that directs the semi-dried particles downward onto a moving belt. The material is then gently conveyed as a porous layer through zones of post-drying and cooling, resulting in a crisp cake-like structure that breaks up at the end of the belt and is discharged through a final particle size control system. The exhaust air streams pass through the material layer on the belt.
